Dentalium & Abalone Shell Earrings
These Dentalium & Abalone shell earrings are two Northwest Coast staples together. Dentalium shells were used for both trade and adornment. Abalone meat was eaten and the shell was used in smudging ceremonies. Native Works brought both shells together in this design as a way to honor Native traditions while fostering a healthier Native future.
Earrings hang about 2.25” long.
Made by Native Works under parent organization Chief Seattle Club, a Native-led human service agency and day center in Seattle working to end Native homelessness. Proceeds go directly to providing meals, mental healthcare, drug and alcohol counseling, housing referrals, legal consultation and more to those in need within Seattle’s Native community.
